Cape Verde is officially certified as malaria-free by the World Health Organization, since January 12th, 2024. During the last decades the Malaria risk had been already declining sharply on the Cape Verde Islands, and there has not been recorded one single case of local transmission during the past three years. Cape Verde is now declared Malaria free, as one of only three countries in Africa (Cape Verde, Mauritius and Algeria).
As WHO states it: “Travellers from non-malaria endemic regions can now travel to the islands of Cabo Verde without fear of local malaria infections and the potential inconvenience of preventive treatment measures”. Why not enjoy this peace of mind on the Island of Santo Antão at Mamiwata Eco-Village with a fresh breeze from you Ocean view room?
